Jonathan Morris

Jonathan was born in Lincoln and is proud to be a Northerner! At the age of 13 he started working in his mothers friends Hotel, and it is there he got the Hospitality bug.

Three years later he went to Grimsby College to study Hotel Management and was awarded a BTEC Higher Medal recognising exceptional achievements by students.

As well as being a qualified Hotelier he is also a qualified chef.

Jonathan's love affair with boutique hotels, with their slinky interiors and innovative touches, began in 1990 during his training at the Famous Lygon Arms Hotel in Broadway, one of the Leading Hotels of the World. Today he is still obsessed with boutique hotels and most weekends you can find him in a Malmaison Hotel, but only as a guest these days!

After nine years in the four and five star Hotel market Jonathan decided to spread his wings and moved into Venue Management, where he has been since 1999, running a five star venue on Park Lane. Jonathan's mission for his Venue is "to offer his guests an authentic and enriching experience.

Whilst managing his Venue Jonathan set up a Venue network group which consisted of 17 venues, this was a talking shop for idea's and referrals.

During 2006 Jonathan decided to set up the Jm Collection after being constantly surprised that there was not a Venue finding service that looked after both the users of the website and the Venue managers. As a Venue manager himself he is able to understand the needs of the Venues listed on his website, and by having network evenings with the users of the website such as Jo Malone evenings and Theatre nights the users to his website constantly comment that they feel part of a community instead of it just being a directory or a faceless website.

As you might imagine, Jonathan never stops and sets himself just as steep challenges in his personal live working for the Variety Club Children's charity as well as producing Theatre shows.
